Forest L. Wood's Crowley's Ridge Nature Center - Planning your visit
- This 17,033 sq.ft., three-story educational facility sitting on 60 acres of land is one of the best kept secrets of the Jonesboro community. Visitors are provided the opportunity to hike through the quarter-mile Habitat Trail taking in the views of deep ravines and beautiful ridgetops, watch for wildlife in the ponds, prairies and wetlands, and learn invaluable outdoor skills. In addition to self-guided trails, the Center also offers its visitors the chance to partake in education workshops to hone their outdoor skills like fishing, hunting and trapping.
Jonesboro Parks & Recreation Pool Center - Recreation Programs / Swimming Lessons
- Is your youngster bursting with energy? Look no further than the exciting activities provided by the Jonesboro Park and Recreation Pool Center! In addition to offering swimming lessons, the Center offers various sports programs and activities that will get your child moving and help them stay active during the summer. Various sports programs include soccer, basketball, volleyball, golf, rugby and more! Are you an adult looking for something to keep you active? Look no further-- Parks & Rec has activities for you as well including adult softball and co-ed volleyball.
Craighead County Public Library - Events
- In addition to the normal ammenties offered by the Public Library, like computer access, DVD and Video Game Rentals, and free Wifi, summertime is always packed full of fun activities for the kids! Although the activities are sponsored through the Library, many of the activities do not center solely on the act of reading. This summer, the Library has several events planned including Teens Brush & Pen nights, Summer Concert Serieses, Craft Fairs and Exercise Classes.
Arkansas State University Museum - Exhibits & Activities
- As an accredited member of the American Alliance of Museums, the A-State Museum offers intriguing exhibits connected to State-mandated curriculum that feature audio podcasts, hands-on gallery activities, tours and suitcase exhibits. In addition to its educational learning activities, the musuem also boasts a Tinkering Studio to foster creativity and inventiveness. They also offer Family Reading Castle events, informal tours, and art project showcases. If you are particularly impressed by your visit, you can even book a birthday party there for a fairly competitive price!
