2018 Veteran’s Day Parade
Honoring their Service and Sacrifice.
A Veteran’s Day Parade was held in Downtown Jonesboro on Saturday morning, November 10 to honor those who have served and sacrificed for the betterment of our country. Despite the dropping fall temperatures, Jonesboro residents bundled up and made their way to Main St. in celebration of our local veterans and their service.
The main focus of the afternoon was on our 2018 Veteran’s Day Grand Marshal, Mr. Robert Puckett. Puckett lives in Bono and served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. Additionally, he has served in several branches of the military including the Marine Corps., the Army, the Army Air Corps., and the Air Force.
The parade featured an inspirational collection of local business owner and non-profit organization floats, instrumentals from several Bands from surrounding school districts and counties, appearances from multiple local ROTC Programs, and exhibitions from members of the Jonesboro Police Department and Jonesboro Fire Department.
The keynote speaker for the event was Lynda Nash, director of the Beck PRIDE Center at Arkansas State University.
